Atlanta Select "Salutes" Justin Allen, a former member of
Atlanta Select RED Team (2006) six year ago.
While a "Select" he played a key role by leading his team as point guard/shooting guard as the team traveled throughout the United States. He can be proud that he, along with his Select teammates, help placed Atlanta Select Basketball Association on the map.
While a Select, Justin actively and willingly participated in the "Life Skills" program. Pictured below on the left, Justin, along with current Atlanta Select coach, O.J. Warfield, giving an impromptu speech as part of Atlanta Select's "Toastmasters" program. On the right Justin attends Skills Development camp.
At Miller Grove High School, he helped his team to be recognized as a championship caliber team as his team made the "Final Four' in the State Championship in 2008.

Now Justin can be proud of his college team. On January 11, 2012 the Lincoln Memorial University men's basketball tea, the "Railsplitters" ascended to the top of the NCAA Division II national rankings. It marked the first time any team from the South Atlantic Conference has been voted to the top spot in the NABC Division basketball pool. Justin is the starting point guard.

The Railsplitters are off to a 14 - 0 start and stand at the top of the South Atlantic Conference standings at 4 - 0. Under the direction of Head Coach Josh Schertz, LMU has outscored its opponents by an average of 26.5 points a game.
Justin is majoring in Sports Broadcasting, he is one of the captains and spends his free time mentoring the young players about campus life on and off the court. His parents are proud of his accomplishments on the court and in the classroom. Justin will be the only senior player that will graduate on time for the 2011-12 school year out of the four seniors on the team.
In his spare time you can see Justin (in the red shorts) in the gym working with the guard that will replace him on the team after he graduates this Spring.
Justin's mother added: "I am very excited about Justin graduating on time because basketball paid for his education but that piece of paper is where it is at." His father contacted Coach Z this second week of January, and invited him to Justin's graduation in May. What an honor!
Atlanta Select is extremely proud that it played a part in Justin's accomplishments to date. But Justin, himself, can be justifiable proud that he used basketball to have fun and to pay for his education. By the way, Justin has decided to go for his Masters degree this Fall.
Go Select, Go Miller Grove, Go LMU, Go Justin! We are proud.
